Welcome to Mainiac Films!

With the completion of our first full length movie under our belts, Mainiac Films is back in production for our next project, "Copper Coated Candy". A Short Film written by Mainiac Films partner Jim "Uke" Doiron. The Film features local actor, David Walace as the intense hit man, the Aussie, and introducing Stephen Fulmer as the silent, fruit loving partner, Apples.
Production has just started, but I'll have a cast list and other exciting news up in the weeks to follow!

Okay, so it's been quite some time since I've posted a news update. We're getting close to the end of production on Copper Coated Candy now. I think we've only got a few scenes left to shoot and then its on to post production! Uke and I have a lot of editing ahead of us (I have to admit that I am NOT looking forward to the amount of Special Effects I have to create for this movie!). Uke's got a new clip up on You Tube if anyone is interested in checking it out. It's just a goof off improv that happened while we were setting up for a shot, but it's pretty hilarious.
I'd like to invite anyone in the Southern Maine area or surrounding areas that don't mind the drive to email me if you are interested in being an extra in Copper Coated Candy's big cage fight scene. We need crowd members to cheer on the fighters! We don't have a date set for the scene just yet, I think Uke is still trying to get the okay for the location he wants to use. But, if you are interested let us know, and I'll make sure I keep everyone posted on when and where. Our Email is in the Contact section of this site.
Also, the Mainiac Films Store is now up and running! If you are interested in a copy of Killing Toni we've got plenty of copies left, so don't be shy.
Happy Holidays from all of us at Mainiac Films!

We've now officially broken into the interiors of Copper Coated Candy yesterday. A big thanks goes out to Aaron Denoi, Courtney Johnson, and Derek Brigham for giving us a stellar performance! Also, thank you's are in order to Everett Bunker and Beth Somerville for taking time out of their day to pick up an extension cord for us, thus saving our shoot! So, thank you all for your work and help. We really appreciate it.
Next on the list of projects for this film is making breakable furniture! I've got a recipe for sugar glass that I'm about to try out and see if we can make this work. I'll be working on the tests for the glass today, and hopefully be working on the framework for the table by the early to mid part of next week. Uke has been uploading more footage to his hard drive, and it looks as if he's prepared to start editing until our next shoot. I don't know how long it will take him, but be ready for some new clips to pop up onto the site in the next couple of weeks.
Last, but not least; I'm thinking about finally tackling the problem of our company store! If anyone has been trying to get a copy of Killing Toni from either myself or Uke without much success, this should help out quite a bit. I'm still researching how I want to do this, but I am getting close, so I thought I'd put the word out there for everyone.
If you have any questions, please just send us an email at mainiacfilms@gmail.com and I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have for us.

Hey, Skip here with some more news for all the Mainiacs out there looking for a taste of our new project! If you haven't checked the YouTube page, or our Facebook page, then you haven't heard the great news just yet... The wait is over! We now have our first clip "Meet the Family" up on YouTube. Can't wait long enough to check it out? Never fear for I have embeded the video directly to our site! Please, please, hold your applause... Only joking, Uke put the clip together the other night, and was able to upload it right away. So please check out our work over on the "projects" page of this website.
Also big on the news side of things is that we are now almost completely done with all of the exterior shoots for the project. This would be absolutely wonderful news if we hadn't had that rediculous blizzard last night! I hope you all are praying for some warm weather for the next couple of days in order to get rid of this gigantic continuity error. We've only got one scene left for the outdoors, and then its all interiors where it doesn't matter what the weather does! Hopefully we can keep this production on track and bring a top notch project to you on time.
As we get farther into the film schedule, we'll release more clips for "Copper Coated Candy".

Just finished an incredibly long day of shooting yesterday, and we're all gearing up for the next one today. I have to say that this past action sequence came out fantastic! There may be some lighting problems on the footage from the later portion of the day, when the sun started to set on us. But, all in all, I'd say it was a successful day. We're looking for another success in today's shoot as well. We're going to start putting some clips of the new project over the next week, since Jim has a working editing program on his computer (which I am totally jealous of!). We'll have some clips for you, and once I get a working program on this computer, I'll start working on a trailer. So stay tuned over the next couple of weeks, and we'll have some new videos, and on set photos coming to the site soon!

We're getting ready for our next weekend of filming. On Saturday we've got an action packed scene, filled with gunfire, screams, and maybe if we're lucky some blood and justs as well! Sunday will be even more special effects as well.
Also, I just spoke to Jim today, and it's looking like we'll be able to get some brand new clips up on the site for you all very soon! I'm still fighting with my computer to get those clips I've promised from Killing Toni up on the site as well, but I swear I'm going to get this thing figured out... I just have to keep myself from taking my tomahawk to my poor unsuspecting laptop!
I'll try to keep my frustration in check. ~Skip
